BART DIRECTIONS:
To plan your BART ride go to www.bart.gov. Take BART to
Oakland and exit BART at either Lake
Merritt or 19th/Oakland stops. From the BART stations walk:
Lake Merritt Station: This walk is about 1 1/2 miles. You will go through the outskirts of
Oakland's famous Chinatown and along the north side of Lake Merritt. Exit BART and go left 377 feet to
Jackson. Turn right onto Jackson and go
0.63 miles to Lakeside Drive. Turn left
onto Lakeside Drive and go 354 feet to Harrison Street. Continue on Harrison Street (around the lake)
to Grand Avenue. Turn right on Grand Avenue to Bellevue Avenue (you will
temporarily leave the path around the lake).
Bear right onto Bellevue Avenue and go 0.16 Miles (you will see Children's
Fairy Land on your right; continue another 700 feet to the Garden Center on
your left).
19th/Oakland Station: This walk is about 1 mile. You will go past some of
Oakland's newer and upscale office complexes and the new cathedral. Exit the BART Station at the 20th Street exit
(heading east toward the hills) go 0.3 miles (3 blocks) to Grand Avenue. Turn right onto Grand Avenue and go 0.4 miles
to Bellevue Avenue. Bear right onto
Bellevue Avenue and go 0.16 Miles (you will see Children's Fairy Land on your right;
continue another 700 feet to the Garden Center on your left).
DRIVING DIRECTIONS:
From Fremont and the southern parts of Oakland:
Take I-880 North toward
Oakland. Take Oak Street/Lakeside Drive
Exit. Turn right on Oak Street and go
0.43 miles. Continue on Lakeside Drive
(keeping the lake on your right) and go 0.65 miles. Continue on Harrison Street and go 354
feet. Turn right onto Grand Avenue and
go 0.21 miles. Bear right onto Bellevue
Avenue and go 0.16 Miles (you will see Children's Fairy Land on your right;
continue another 700 feet to the Garden Center on your left).
From Pleasanton, Hayward or Castro Valley:
Take I-580 West toward
Oakland. Take the Grand Avenue exit.
Turn right onto Grand Avenue and go 0.73 miles.
Turn left onto Bellevue Avenue and go 0.16 Miles (you will see
Children's Fairy Land on your right; continue another 700 feet to the Garden
Center on your left).
From Berkeley:
Take I-80 West toward
Oakland. Continue on I-580 East toward
Hayward/Stockton and go 2.59 miles. Take
the Grand Avenue/Lakeshore Avenue exit.
Turn right onto Grand Avenue and go 0.66 miles. Turn left onto Bellevue Avenue and go 0.16
Miles (you will see Children's Fairy Land on your right; continue another 700
feet to the Garden Center on your left).
From San Francisco:
Take the Bay Bridge toward
Oakland exit onto I-80 East. Take I-580 East
toward Hayward/Stockton and go 2.88 miles.
Take the Grand Avenue/Lakeshore Avenue exit. Turn right onto Grand Avenue and go 0.66
